Sketches
Draw a sketch in the Designer - pick a plane or a flat face, draw with the sketch bar's lines, arcs, rectangles, circles and polygons, round or bevel corners, and edit every point later as an expression.
Features and dialogs
Every feature the Designer adds to a part - solids, extrudes, revolves, sweeps and lofts, fillets, chamfers, shells, holes, bosses and pockets, booleans and patterns - and how their dialogs take values, picks and expressions.
Parameters
Name the sizes that matter in a Designer part or assembly, write other numbers as expressions of them, drag a slider to see the model follow, and keep sets of values as configurations.
References and repair
How a Designer feature names the faces and edges it works on, why those names survive changes to the part, what happens when a change takes a face away, and how to point the feature at another one.
Parts and materials
Turn a Designer body into a part - give it a name, a material from the presets, a colour and a finish - and read the volume and mass the Designer works out from its geometry and its material's density.
History and changes
Change a Designer part after the fact - undo and redo your own changes, edit, suppress or delete a feature, drag it to another place in the list, and roll the part back to build it only up to a feature.
Problems
What the Designer's Problems tab tells you when a feature cannot be built, how a failure carries through the features after it, and what to do - edit, undo, suppress, copy the problem or send a crash report.
View, selection and panels
Move around a model in the Designer, look from a named side, pick faces and edges with the right pick mode, use what the Selection panel offers for your picks, and arrange the panels to suit you.
