Standard Parts
How Bitbybit builds standard parts - bolts, gears, bearings, keys, rings and springs to ISO, ANSI and DIN - from the tables in bitbybit.engineering.mechanical, places each by a frame, and names the role of every face.
Fasteners
ISO and ANSI hex bolts, socket head cap screws, nuts, set screws and washers, dowel pins, and the tables behind them - clearance holes, head sizes and counterbores - with a bolted plate built from them.
Gears
Involute spur, helical, bevel and ring gears and racks as solids, and the tables that say how gears mesh - centre distance, contact ratio and interference for a pair, a gear inside a ring and a planetary set - with two spur gears meshed from them.
Bearings, Keys, Rings, Springs
Deep groove ball bearings, DIN and ANSI parallel keys, DIN and inch retaining rings and compression springs, with the tables behind them, and a shaft fitted with a key, a ring and a bearing.
Machining
Threads, keyways, retaining ring grooves, splines, knurls and flats cut into shafts, holes and hubs to ISO, ANSI and DIN, each with a tool that is the material it removes, and the thread, spline and knurl tables behind them.
